Omega steel sections reinforce the strength of the 22mm thick timber boards. Overlapping timber and Omega sections provide both privacy and reduction to noise levels in a design which allows the fence to follow the contours of the ground. The timber boards used are Douglas fir from a sustainable source, non toxic pressure treated brown or green in colour, offering a 30 year service life. Steel strips in 25 x 5m flat to the inside of the fence add to the strength and will prevent the boards from distorting. Horizontal rails are in 50 x 50 x 6m angle iron with the top horizontal having the option of a serrated strip to provide additional security. The bottom horizontal has support legs to prevent settlement of the fence spoiling its appearance over a period of time. Posts to support the heavy UNISON fence are 100mm deep 'I' section which gives exceptional strength while allowing the fence to run into the webb providing protectin to the outer boards of each panel.
All of the fixings to UNISON have nylok nuts to provide a solid construction and prevent any loosening from vibration, where the fence may be used as a boundary for ball games.
